Broker to take on a portfolio of smallish domains

    Hey Guys,

First post, hope you can help me out, I've been assigned the task of selling a bunch of domains, they can be viewed here:

    keywordrichdomains.co.uk/domains-for-sale

I'm looking for a broker to take (at least) some of them on, there might be a few that have potential and might interest somebody here? or maybe someone could recommend a broker that that might be interested?

    Thanks!!

    Tom

It looks like someone went on a spree registering new keyworded domains. Am I right in saying they've all only just been registered?

Have you sold any so far? If you have then I might just buy up loads of random keyworded domains and slap them on a new site myself. I could probably promote the list here too.

    Hi keyworlddomains, welcome to experienced-people.

I was a bit doubtful about this thread and thought it may border on being an ad but as you were looking for a broker rather than individual buyers I felt it was on the right side of the line.

Anybody has any suggestions for a broker or how keyworlddomains can go about selling this portfolio?

Thanks Clinton - I was wary of maybe being on the wrong side of the posting rules!

Hooperman: Yes they've all been recently registered, a colleague of mine bought them up but we haven't sold any yet (we tried one as a tester). We are involved in other projects and I suppose we haven't the contacts in the domain business right now (nor the manpower) to start pushing them out there.

If we had someone experienced to handle them then maybe we could get a little feedback from that person on how they are viewed in the market place (so that we can learn more about which domains have most potential.)

If someone with domain experience and contacts in the domain game could take some of them on that would be great.

keyworddomains, would you consider paying a broker, in advance, a fixed fee to get involved? The reason I ask is because otherwise you're asking him to take a gamble and spend time for which he may not get properly compensated.

The first thing you should do is learn the difference between broad match and exact match.

you will find that .biz, .us and .info have no real value.

Firstly the market sees no value in them, secondly all those domain extensions get crap search engine rankings, that is why they have no value.

    sorry to burst your bubble.

For info sake. There is a small amount value inbrandable .info's and some value in .us but that is about all

Search engines (at least Google publicly) don't differentiate on the basis of TLD. If they rank poorly, it's down to what the webmaster did or didn't do.

I think you're right that the market (on the whole) doesn't see those extensions as valuable.

JockP, a lot of those .infos and .bizs have .coms as well- perhaps a good way to build a brand? With regards to the actual list itself, I'd agree that many of the domains are over valued- $197 for something like traveltourism.biz with no traffic, history, backlinks, website etc is incredibly over the mark.

    @ hooperman

Google might say that they don't differentiate with a tld, but they do.

show me an example of where a .biz .info or .us outranks a .com or .org in a higher competition keyword.

I have tested all those extensions rigorously and find that for rankings go for .com then .org (.net doesn't seem to rank for me) this is collected from data from 1000's of sites, through my own network and friends networks and seo data.

@mgallone yes you might register the .biz etc for your main brand to save face. but at the end of the day, the market shows us that .com is where the money is.
