    Hi To Everyone

    Hi all,

I got started about 3 years ago with internet marketing / online business. I got my first site for about $2k at that time and although I was pretty frightened when it only made half what it was advertised to make, I have managed a decent return since then on that one. Bought a few more after that, made some myself and sold most of them, and am now trying to move up to the next level of buying and selling (around $10-20k per site). Currently have 4 main sites going and a bunch of much smaller ones too. Along the way I've learned a lot, like transferring wordpress sites, disliking SBI!, coding html and then of course the due diligence for buying sites. Met some pretty strange people, but mostly just others like me I guess.

In some ways I can't believe I've only just joined up here, having read so many posts in the past. About time!

Ah well, better late than never. So, you're focusing on buying and selling? Do you use any particular marketplace? Many people these days seem to be finding it harder to identify good sites to buy because of the flood of dodgy turnkeys in the market. Has that affected you at all? Hope you don't mind all the questions - just trying to get to know you a wee bit better.

Yep, buying and selling, though occasionally buying and running them for quite a while too (optimizing ad layouts etc). I started off buying from Flippa, and although pretty much all the ones I bought from there have done fairly well, I just got so sick of wading through reams of garbage that I stopped looking at Flippa. So I've started looking for sites by contacting webmasters directly - using DMOZ, or just searching for stuff in Google.

Selling on Flippa still seems to be good on the other hand, as when you have a good site, it does stand out quite well - and there are buyers who haven't yet got fed up of all the dodgy sites.
