Online Faxing Service For Sale
http://www.payperfax.com/
I had been in contact with this seller and got some details but it didn't turn out to be a good fit for me but I think there is some potential there.
The site has revenue and a customer base.
You can contact the seller directly at the email listed on the "contact us" page for more details or PM me for a brief overview and I can just cut to the chase for ya.
If you do contact the seller, tell her "Chris" passed the info along.
I'm in no way associated with the sale but I told her I'd pass it around.

That site came up for sale before: Flippa
They've been trying to sell it for over a year. I wonder why it's not moving.

Well, the first time it was for sale, it had no revenue and the asking price was pretty high. Since then, the seller has gotten a little more reasonable each time, but there still is a lot of talk about "potential" and not much history to back it up. It's an interesting business and a good domain name.

Its interesting I agree and therefore Im also somewhat interested.
But what are your guys thoughts on the sustainability of such a service. As faxes really are old these days and email is used 99% of the time. I know in my work we hardly would ever use a fax. Scanning and emailing is more efficient and doesn't cost anything.
I appreciate that there are old outposts out tehre who want faxes for various things every now and then, but the market just can't be that big enough and especially with such low costs for one fax charged and the margins therefore being very low. Plus as I said its a shrinking market with email and all.

Sometimes I see what I think is a shrinking market and the figures prove me wrong. You'd be surprised at how many places still use faxes.
What do his graphs look like? Steadily rising? Or not?

I have done some work in the fax industry in the past and if my memory is corect I think a fax is still the only electronically sent/received document deemed as legal. I'm quite hazey on this but I think it has something to do with email not being secure and therefore can be tampered with but with a fax it is direct point to point(someone please feel free to correct me on this).
As for those reasons, banks and other financial institutes still rely heavily upon them as a fax can be used as authorisation without the original document. I think that is the only advantage over having a scanner and an email account.
Edit:
After posting this and reading it back, I don't think it helps any.

Actually, you're spot on there!
That made me remember that in High Commissions and Embassies, they requires faxes over emails - had some recent experiences with that.
Also, DMCA notices need to be faxed, not emailed. I'm sure there are other examples.
