FP - How much did you sell your 1st site for?

Well I sold my first site, it was unplanned, it was sold for $650 with about 25 bids.

The domain was a PR 3 , earned most of the money from selling link spaces on the site , and earned like $0.5 daily from Google Adsense (I could earn more if I had the site in my hands now).

It was a 7 day listing, not "featured" , it could of sold for a lot more.


Niche: Workout (fitness/health)

the domain was a PR1 and the site is an established classified ads site earned like 1-2$/daily from Google Adsense, totally autopilot with thousands of registered users on it.
it was a 7 day listing, only do one upgrade (featured).

Good question. Was a while ago now, but I think it was around $500.

The site was only a few weeks old and had made about $50 I think.

I can't actually remember exactly how much it was to be honest. Back in the SitePoint days.

my first site flip was in the sitepoint days also. i flipped two sites and then i stopped selling websites like an idiot. I was about 17 years old and sold one site for $700 and another for $450.

I don't know what made me think it was okay to not continue to flip websites. (they were both startup clickbank sites).

I remember selling a few startup CB sites for $2k. Not going to happen in 2011!

Check out this article on FlipFilter. Justin has done an interesting study into successful sellers of start-up sites and mentions sites that tend to sell well.

If you don't want to read it all, in short: blogs/autoblogs aren't selling quite as well as before.
