FP - RSS feeds, would they help?

I'm planning to place some RSS feeds in my blog website that i'm about to launch. I haven't used it before and I would like to know if RSS feeds would help drive traffic or somehow add some links to my website. Honestly, i'm not sure what are RSS feeds and how can they help me?

RSS is Rich Site Summary, i guess it's a standard format to deliver any update of your web's content to people who subscribe to your feed or to people who aggregates it.
RSS can get you traffic indirectly if you submit your rss to some rss directories out there (it will also increase the visibility of your site on search engine)

If you have a blog, it should have an RSS feed already built into it. Just type in your URL and then put /feed after it and it should come up.

If you take that feed and submit it to a bunch of RSS directories, they will count as links back to your site.

Rss feeds can help. The reason is that they are often updated and that updating acts like fresh content which the spider love. You also can get some organic traffic from it because of the content which may have words that are being searched.

The thing is, use it for adding content, but not the only content...

While I do say that, there are plugins that scrape rss feeds and make autoblogs.

You can use rss feeds in many ways.... get creative...
