Question FP - affiliate marketing sites?

I read somewhere on DP of an investor that has around $10000 to invest online for LONG TERM goals. I know this website is about flipping the website which would be intended but I am looking for something long term that can grow steadily and then when ready be able to be flipped. Long term looking 1-3+ years. I read something about affiliate marketing sites which are having good income from last 10 months. I am extremely new to site flipping etc. and if anyone has information about affiliate marketing sites and where to start the research/any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Z

PS - also I read a person saying before buying check whether the website is using "black or white hat" meathods. What does this mean?

    TY!

    Re: affiliate marketing sites?

If you're looking for something long-term, look for a site in an evergreen niche with steady traffic/profits from various sources. Ecommerce sites can also be good if they have strong suppliers. Check out our article on Flippa for things to look out for: http://flippa.com/blog/guest-post-7-...ing-a-website/

As a side-note, most people on forums claiming they have cash to invest are fishing for ideas. And if they are legit, they wouldn't invest in someone who didn't know what they are doing/have a good track record.

Thanks Thomas - could you explain or give a few examples of what you mean by an "evergreen" niche?

I happen to stumble across the article, I have a few thousand I would like to play with (been researching for a month now) and I am certain I do not have enough information to buy anything yet. I am trying to get well prepared and enough knowledge to at least run a website that sells something or a product of someone else's. I am fishing for ideas . I read your post about picking a certain field (I was looking into forums) but I am really interested in marketing a product or an affiliate product.

An evergreen niche would be one that is long-term and not a short-term trend.

For example: "weight loss" is an evergreen niche. "Company X diet pills" is not. You could market an affiliate product, but if you want something long-term I would rather have a more general niche site promoting various products, than a site just promoting one specific affiliate product that might not be around tomorrow.

    Re: affiliate marketing sites?

Do you have any experience with affiliate marketing? Do you have a niche in which you are an expert?
To start you donīt need a own website to make money with affiliate marketing. You can use blogger for your site.
But when you what to start a flipping business you need to look at flippa and see whats going on.
Sometimes you find a complete website with clickbank product ready to sell, take a look.

Good niches are make money online, website flipping, internet marketing, affiliate marketing, health and fitness, weight loss, online games and so on.

    Re: affiliate marketing sites?

Blogger? Must be completely out of my mind to use this or any other free service
A domain name costs $7 and .INFO costs even less. There's a difference between being cheap and being way too cheap!
