FP - Digitial Point is a Gold Mine!

Those of you that buy domains, build sites and then flip them should not rule out hanging out at DP for a bit.

I posted there today that I wanted to buy a lot of domains for a project that I am putting together. Of course you get a lot of silly responses and some valid ones as well.

You can get some good deals on aged domains if you want.

Part of what I have bought thus far:

10 year old domain, minimal backlinks - 12.00
7 year old domain, minimal backlinks - 7.00
4 year old domain, minimal backlinks - 6.00

For you flippers, you can buy an older domain, build your site, backlink it properly, get ranked, monetize it and sell it as an older site with good rankings.... you cost would probably be under 100.00 - 150.00.

One thing to be careful of on DP is people selling dropped domains with forged PR. If you do your due diligence you can grab some bargains like BTB says, though.

Did you manage to find any good keyword domains? Or were they quite generic?

The domains were generic but for our purposes for them it doesn't really matter.

The ones I bought today are all .com and .net and of course, I never would pay asking price.

There's some pretty good purchases there I have brought both domains and websites there. The system is a little open to abuse but if you do your due diligence you should be pretty safe. I have to say the fake PR thing is pretty rife but usually it's easy to work that one out if you know what you are doing.

Its just the forged PR case, you may search "info:" and the PR is real but you also need to check the backlinks and is it strong enough to hold that PR atleast for a couple of months. Remember that PR is mostly based on backlinks and the PR stats currently displayed is only a snapshot of the PR a few times ago at the prvious PR. Who knows your domain might be currently at PR1 instead of PR4 or PR5. The truth will only be revealed at the next PR update thus why its important to make sure that the PR is supported by its backlinks.

Yep, DP is typically pretty good for quick design jobs (logos, banners). What I love most about it is that any time you start a logo/banner contest you get dozens of submissions (even if you pay as little a 10 bucks) and can actually pick the one you like most, rather than having one particular designer do your stuff and have them re-do the work 5 times until they "get it right".

As for articles, I mainly deal with my own contacts and those referred by them, as it's ridiculously easy to get burned on forums (especially on DP), due to the fact that the vast majority of article writers aren't native English speakers and many don't even know basic spelling and grammar.
