FP - Opinions On My Auction

I’m currently on my 4th listing and trying to work out the best way to sell my PR blogs.

    My current auction >>> https://flippa.com/128412-Authoritat...Huge-Potential

I have started this auction at $1, and is still $1 as I’m writing this.(very frustrating, and beginning to wonder if I should just do buy it now’s) I have a reserve which is over $150, but i don’t have a buy it now. I plan to include a buy it now as the auction is about to end. I feel that this method makes the most common sense.

I have no idea if this will go over $150, but if it does, I’ll be happy to sell, and I feel that the domain is worth over $150 on its own.

I had a little idea to have a follow me on twitter for any future auctions, but I have no idea if this will work, just testing it as an idea.

I have a hostgator reseller account, which i feel will make the transaction go a lot smoother, and on top of that I can benefit from it if people decide to use my hosting.

Any advice on how i could improve the potential of this listing would be appreciated.

    Re: Opinions On My Auction

Having bought and managed PR domains, I'd agree based on the PR5 alone it's worth over $100. I think we used to average $120 - $150 per PR5 we got from GoDaddy. Of course the age helps too.

First, it could still be early (7 days to go), so don't sweat it.

The issue could also be splitting people's attention. Are you trying to sell to the PR market? The Age market? The make money online market?

Your savvy buyer would see potential in all three, but my guess is most people are on Flippa with only one thing on their mind at any one time. So I'd decided what's the largest value of this site (the PR? the Age? etc.) and sell it based on that quality, with the rest as bonus.

Just my two cents worth... Good luck with it!

    Re: Opinions On My Auction

It doesn't look like you've featured it on the front page, right? I do this at the beginning so my listings gets bids right off the bat. Most people don't want to be the first person to bid.. Flippa is also powered a lot by social factors because people like being where the action is.

Try getting the featured listing upgrade and think of it as educated risk. Your buyer may just be someone who's glancing at the front page when your listing is there. If you don't want to do this, as long as you have people watching the listing then like BrettM said, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

I know it is scary to not have a reserve, but you win more times than lose without a reserve and $1 start.

Good job, looks like you're at $250 already. I remember seeing your posts on BHW about some sites you had been selling (I'm meathead1234 over there)... thought I recognised the username.

I might have suggested some uses for the site/domain for a potential bidder. What could it be used for? What does the name mean? As a buyer, these are all questions I would be asking, and if you can answer them before they ask you'll have some great bidders

    Re: Opinions On My Auction

Congrats on the $250! And as Thomas says, don't make your buyers do the hard work (I know... it's easier if they do, but they usually don't -- you have to!). Whether you're selling cars, air conditioners or domains, how does it benefit the buyer? That way if they see the end result they want in your domain, you'll get more eyes / more bids.

Either way, your auction is going along now. Let us know how it ends, and what changes you made (if any)!

    Re: Opinions On My Auction

I wish I never accepted that $250 bid.

Looks like he has already made fake bids on 3 other auctions.

Surley this guy should be banned.

I'm now thinking if this guy does not pay, then i'll give him bad feedback, which would probably result in me getting bad feedback from him.

I thought it was strange that i recieved a straight up $250 bid.

Could be. Did you contact him before accepting? There's a thread around here on that...

However, suggest you don't play the bad feedback game, as you can't erase bad feedback from your account. Just leave it be, or after the feedback period is expire report to Flippa. Just don't get into a pissing contest, as much as our emotions want to .

Wouldn't worry just yet, you've got 6 days left for someone to beat that bid.

Found the thread on accepting bids (there's more discussion at the whole thread if I remember correctly):

Re: feedback, this was the one discussion I remember:

Either way, as Thomas says, give it time. Nerve racking I know... give it time and see what happens!
