FP - What makes an offer convert?

I've been in the dating niche for a couple of months and noticed something strange.
    The same amount of traffic
    The same source
    The same network
    The same amount of clicks
    Even the sites look similar.

But for some reason the coversion rate has a huge difference. Most offers are around the average, but so far I came across 2 which convert at all. Only 2-3 coverts until I gave up on them. The others had around 20 during the same amount of time and traffic.
Any ideas? Do they shave that much? Any way to discover them before I invest money, time and effort?

    Thanks

It will be the advertiser's scrubbing. That's why it's essential to split test various offers, networks, landing pages etc.

There's never really any way to know beforehand what will/won't convert - the best way is just to test loads of offers (you can discount the ones that have bad looking landing pages) and then just remove the low performers as you go. You should also test the same offer across different networks - you might find that one network scrubs so much that you'll make even 2x more on a different network.

I agree with what Thomas said above, with the exception of

(you can discount the ones that have bad looking landing pages)
    Always. Test. Everything.

If the landing page looks bad/ugly/overly cheesy to you then it does not mean that most of your prospects think of it the same way. For example when it comes to sales pages some of the best converting sales pages I've seen have looked absolutely disgusting! But this is my opinion - and my opinion is the last thing that matters as I won't be the one buying the guru ebook or entering my details in the email submit form.

    Thanks
Never thought of that, so far I've always disregarded the ugly ones. Definitely trying this out.

As far I've heard, they all scrub to some extent. With some affiliates I know it as a fact (several conversions I'm confident about were not displayed). But I would never have thought some scrub THAT much. I mean it's way more than 50%. And I'm quite sure it's the affiliate. Other offers on the network are all doing fine.
