With the merger I imagine things will pick up as EP members start seeing all of this new content appearing on their forum and hopefully they will be inclined to add to it.
Hopefully as FP members check back to see what is going on they will see the added injection from the merger with EP and stick around to contribute again.
If y'all know anyone from FP outside of FP it might not be a bad idea to tell them about the merger and suggest they come back and check it out.
That's my two cents worth, and it's worth every penny.![]()
Because of the thread dates, some of this won't appear as new content unless you guys return to the thread and say something relevant and useful to make the thread live again.
We don't close old threads at EP, but the older the thread the more useful and relevant your new post needs to be to justify bumping the thread. So FP members looking to get an old thread some new attention at EP should take the time and trouble to put together a kick-ass post to bump the old thread to a brand new, high quality audience and get their replies.
I still have posts made 2 months ago that have no replies. I guess the forum is officially dead!

I feel your pain and frustration. I think this is one of the big reasons the merger is happening.I still have posts made 2 months ago that have no replies. I guess the forum is officially dead!

Hang in there with me. I looked at your recent threads, which I had already done because you sent me a friends request, and personally I just didn't have anything to contribute to them. Do as Clinton suggest and bump the threads after the merger and see what happens. I know I have one or two, at least, that I am going to update and try to get some additional input on.Because of the thread dates, some of this won't appear as new content unless you guys return to the thread and say something relevant and useful to make the thread live again.
When I logged on today I noticed that my post count and rep power seem to have taken a nosedive right down the turdlet, could be my imagination too; I also notice that my thanks given and thanks received stats are gone. Both are things they use on EP, BTW. It looks like it is going to be a bumpy (no pun intended) ride, but hopefully well worth it in the end. I also noticed my power to give and remove thanks in threads is gone too. Maybe this is all just an indication that they have started moving threads and stuff; I don't know. Anyway, it will all be over soon; just don't give up.
Hopefully the friends stuff will stay in place after the merger. Some people like to have friends so they can say stuff like I'm friends with so-and-so and some people like to be able to say I'm friends with x number of people; I like to have friends that I find interesting who can string more than two intelligent thoughts together at a time.
Enough ramblings... see you in the funny pages.
All thanks are offline. Various other plugins here have been turned off. I'm trying to reduce the burden on this server while all the work is happening. They have not been lost.
Thanks are still there and I'm investigating how to import them into EP. The standard vB merge facility doesn't seem to handle data from plugins like the Thank You Hack. Reputation is a native vB feature so reputation should transfer seemlessly.
However, most posters will see a drop in post count. There are numerous threads that had to be deleted/moved. For example, all threads in the CLP forum, the FP feedback forum etc. Similarly with BSTE. If you had posts in those threads their removal would have caused a drop in your post count.
EP members have had to follow strict anti-fluff rules to reach their current level of post count. I have been a lot more lenient in my review of all posts here and allowed many posts that would not normally have been allowed on EP. That's slightly to the disadvantage of EP members, many of whom will now end up with lower post counts than you, but it's hopefully some compensation towards the posts and Experience Points etc. that you have lost here.
I'm not saying everything will go smoothly with the move. I'll do my best but it's my hope that you'll focus on the big picture and make valuable new contacts and associations at EP that lead to improving your businesses. One way is by getting your threads new life by exposing them to a whole bunch of new people who share your interests and have their own knowledge and skill to contribute.
PS: You'll also benefit from all your signature links, in-post links etc., being DOFOLLOW (that's something else we do differently on EP)![]()
