Flippa Auctions Closed Unsold - Is there a trend?

Over the last 2 weeks, I have numerous auctions on Flippa that have closed unsold. Normally, most of my sites do sell (not for alot but they do sell) but recently, most of them dont even have a bid. Anyone experience that too?

Is it because it's universal tax month coz my friend told me it's tax day in the US (the bulk of my clients come from the US).

    hi fated82, and welcome.

Are they the same types of sites or different to ones you've sold previously?

I don't think it's you, I think it's the market. I've posted elsewhere that I suspect the market has dropped recently. Flippa doesn't seem to agree. But, yes, tax deadlines do have an influence on the market. April 6th is the start of the new tax year for individuals in the UK.

    Hi Clinton,

    Thanks!

I think it's the market too. Then again, like any industries, there are good times and bad times. I am going to ride on and see what happens. I understand that in the US, April 17 is their last day to file taxes. Here is Singapore, it's April 18. So hopefully by next week everything picks up.

Over 1/2 of the sites listed on flippa go unsold in their first attempt at selling. Just as bad is many get "sold" only to have the buyer not pay.

Having said that, the majority of the sites that don't sell do not have any traffic or earnings, or are drastically over priced. Oh, and also Seller feedback (or lack thereof) also makes a big difference.

Personally I do not think that taxes are behind why sites are not selling. Half of all Americans get a refund and do not owe money. I have not bid on any sites this last few weeks because prices were either too high for the site I was interested in or the seller did not get me the stats I wanted. Plenty of companies are ripe with cash.
