    Hi from Singapore

    Hi all E-Pian,

I am very fresh to this forum, it looks pretty interesting and looks like there are lots of stuff to learn and share here.

My name is Richard and I came from Singapore (a tiny country from Asia), I am a blogger and owned a few blogs, my niche is on Internet Marketing, Self-Help and Entertainment (movies to be specific).

Hope to have chance to get to know more people here and let's learn and share together.

    Cheers!

    Richard

    Hi Richard

Welcome to EP. Are you interested in any specific niches, such food or travel? What do you blog about? Are you earning a living online already or still trying to get there?

You've not really told us much about yourself yet.

Hi Kay, thanks for the comment. I am currently still working full time and Internet marketing is something that I did as part time or freelance basis. So, I've not reached a stage to live on IM alone (not yet).

My niches are stated in my original post and I am currently involved in affiliate marketing, advertisement placement and paid review.

    Cheers!

Oh, you mean you're actually blogging about those things? I hadn't realised you're expert enough on these issues to be able to inform or teach people about them. I'd thought you meant that you use these techniques to monetise your blogs. Most bloggers are into affiliate marketing etc, but only as a means of monetisation. Given that you're not yet at the stage of earning a living from IM alone, why do you think people would want to learn from you rather than from someone more experienced? Are you selling MMO products or something like that?

Hi Kay, yes, I am blogging about these things but I do not claim to be an expert in these fields (not yet). My main focus is to curate and share of view on what I know in my blogs. MMO product is something in my mind in my future venture but not now. My blogs are more for sharing knowledge and it's FREE. The thing that I am proud of my blogs is that I always ensure original content.

By the way, besides being an moderator, what's your online venture? Care to share your experiences?

    Cheers!

Hey, this thread is supposed to be for you to introduce yourself, not me. But since you've asked, I own a few websites, dabble in domains, and sometimes I work as a writer/photographer (mainly in the travel niche). I was in Singapore recently - travelled by train from KL. I like to hang out at Robertson Quay. Where are your favourite watering holes? Singapore is a great place but it's a lot more expensive than the other countries in the region, would you agree?

How long have you been doing your blogs? Are you making good progress with them? Feel free to start a new thread if there's anything specific you'd like to discuss about them or anything we might be able to help you with.

    Hi Kay,

Wow, I guess you are a true internet markter that living the eLife! ;-) Oh, yes, agreed with you that Singapore is much expensive than the neighbouring countries like Malaysia, Indonesia or even Thailand. I don't drink much thus no preferrence place for the watering holes..

I've started my blog mid last year and so far doing quite well in terms of creating and sharing my stories/content.

Sure, thanks for the helps so far.

    All the best to you!

    Cheers!

LOL. I'm not an Internet Marketer. What a funny suggestion. BTW, watering holes usually sell food too, not just drink. I was thinking more along the lines of getting great food (OK, and a couple of beers as well) in places like the Wolf Brasserie and BoomArang. It's such a vibrant atmosphere. You could be missing out if you don't try it.

So, what have you been doing to spread the word about your blog? Link building? Social bookmarking?

    Hi Kay,

For promoting my blog, I am focusing more on organic search result by applying on-site SEO, social networks and forum marketing. ;-)

    Cheers!

Is it really necessary to quote everything I say?

What do you mean exactly by "forum marketing"? Getting sig links, link in profile, or what? IMO, forums are actually a very good way to 'market' yourself and what you're doing. You can make new contacts and friends, then they might be interested in you according to how they perceive you from how you've behaved on the forum. OTOH, if one tries to abuse the place by making postings only for the sig link, many places (including EP) will shut you down.

Some forums will let you advertise if you pay an annual full membership fee. I do that sometimes and it does help to get attention and some extra visitors. Is that what you meant by forum marketing?

What kind of on-page SEO are you doing? Are you into keyword research, for example?
