I meant "no extra value". Sorry. Mind too fast. Hands too slow.

    5. Flippa's PR: Posts by Flippa owners and staff (and I'm talking since long before LukeMoulton joined) have been to talk up the end of the market that generates the most listings - and fees. That comes across in postings they've made in SP, blog comments they've left elsewhere and in interviews they've given.

I would rather see Flippa establish a rating system like eBay's that actually works, that promotes honest sellers through real feedback, and gets rid of the hacks quickly. That one thing alone would move Flippa from scam central into being a serious buy/sell forum for real buyers and sellers. My opinion only.

Bear in mind, most scams and rubbish sites are one-time sellers (and then they create a new account) so I'm not sure a different feedback system is the answer. Most of these low end sellers are great at delivering the site (speed, customer service, transfer etc.) but it's the site itself that will never deliver, and that's something most buyers won't realise until it's too late.

meathead1234, in a recent post I published some stats on "career site-sellers". There are a large number of people selling sites for a living. There are a fair few scammers in there going by the number of multiple-listing sellers who've been suspended/banned in Flippa.

Even with those you're talking about - the low end sellers delivering a working site and transferring it to the buyer - the scam is in the convincing of the (often newbie) buyer that this is his route to online fortune ... or at least his route to a decent level of regular profit.
