What is the best length of auction and day to close an auction?

I am selling my first website. If I choose to sell it on Flippa what is the best length of time to do the auction? Is 2 weeks enough time to generate interest and lots of bidding eyes or should it be longer?

When is the best day to complete an auction? I would assume that Monday morning is not good as many people may not be watching the auction end time to make their final bids.

In case it matters here is some background on my site. The site is not adsense. It is a site in the alternative health related niche and it brought in $2500 in affiliate commissions over the past 12 months. It did this with very little traffic.

Many thanks in advance for your expertise and advice!

I'm sure there's a thread around about "ideal times", G-Flip, but I can't seem to find it.

I did however find this post: How To Get The Best Price For Your Site. It quite old - apparently from the days before we had a ThankYou button - but you'll probably find it useful if you're looking to sell a site.

Thanks Clinton! I looked around as well but couldn't find anything about timeframe as well. Hopefully some others will chime in on their experience.
Thank you for the link. I read this article while creating the draft for my auction listing and it does have some really good tips to follow. They make a great deal of sense.

I can only give you my personaly thoughts. (All times and days are USA based) and this could have changed as my test data is about 18months old.

1 Day auctions are useless pretty much any day of the week.
Depending on the value of the site also depends on the length, high value sites tend to need longer for people to do their due diligence, lower value sites it tends to be between 5 and seven days depending on the auction end time.
Ending on a weekend, monday or friday is another not so good idea, people tend to be busy or offline.
Ending the auction before about 10am and after about 9pm in the USA is also not a good idea, I haven't been able to pinpoint the best time to end as I don't do much auction stuff anymore.

I have found most people out of the USA will stay online longer if they have an auction ending but people inside the USA tend to go offline.
The times mentioned would of course could be completely different if you are trying to sell a .co.uk or .com.au or some other ccTLD
I got out of bed today staring at a ghost. Who forgot to float away, didnt have all that much to say. Wouldn't even tell me his own name.

From my (rather limited) flippa and sedo auctions experience Thursday afternoon-evening is best time to end an auction, 2 weeks should be enough I think.

No experience with sites, but -

I have found that certain items on eBay sell particularly well if the auction is timed to end between 12 noon and 2pm British Summer Time.

The US people are up and starting their day, the UK and Europe are wide awake, the Australians and Japanese are propping their eyelids up with matchsticks, but they are all in a position to bid. If they really want something, they will be ready ...

Try the same time on a Saturday and it doesn't work - too much happens on Saturday.

A recent discussion on EP was titled Flippa auctions 1 week or 1 month and this contains posts from a broker with experience, Meathead1234, and Andrew from Flippa.

A great place to review quality threads on EP is by visiting the Threads Of The Week bulletin archive.

There is also discussion on Flippa sales in the private VIP Lounge, such as $3975 from my 2nd Flippa auction and Need some Flippa suggestions (for EP members with 50+ quality posts).
