Transferring a Clickbank account when selling a website

A good post (IMO) on Flippa about transferring a Clickbank account. It's from someone called Caro from the Ed Dale "30 Day Challenge team". Some of you would remember the Ed Dale thread about an ad posing as an article - this isn't like that one.

She talks about the ease with which CB accounts are transferred and recommends you have a separate CB account for each business so it can be easily moved with the business. Sounds sensible and allows the clean split buyers like.

I know many of you haven't bought or sold businesses with CB products attached... or have you?

She doesn't drool about how fantastic Flippa is till the end of the article and restricts it to a very short pitch, so you're not reading a one page ad trying to figure out if there's some nugget of gold in there

In the comments, don't miss the question from 22 - one of the typical Flippa seller-of-worthless-sites type. His main worry

Are you able to create the new clickbank account, get your product preapproved before selling but hold off on paying the $49.95 fee?
In other words, can I make my template appear an established business by creating a CB account and can I do it without paying anything (to keep the cost of my templates down)?

Have any of you bought/sold a business with a CB product? Did it go smoothly?

I've bought a CB product/business and it all went smoothly. I essentially took over the account through changing the email address, then password, then all the other details. I also put in an email to Clickbank support to flag the date in which I took ownership. With the new multi-account support, I definitely agree that it's best to keep a unique account for each business, just in case you later want to sell one of the products that you own.

By the way, Caro suggests at one point to use paydotcom. Be careful with them. The owner has spammer the email address I used to test paydotcom's service.

I've called him out in this thread. He's a nice enough chap, was willing to talk about it and we exchanged a few emails, but we differ considerably in what constitutes permission marketing. Give him your address when you sign up for a paydotcom account and he feels entitled to spam you with completed unrelated marketing mail from other domains and other businesses that have nothing to do with paydotcom.
