And article writing is a good idea. It fits in nicely with what he does. I'd consider writing not just for third parties but writing some for a site he sets up himself. Over time they'll build links and age and can be monetised in a number of ways.

RossDVD, I can tell you that in the accounting business there's a lot of low skill work in sorting "shoe-boxes" of receipts and typing them up in spreadsheets for importing into accounting programs. Have you got any large bookkeeping firms near you? If you can convince them on client confidentiality, there may be more work there than you can handle.
