New on the Forum - International Properties sites

    Hello Everyone,

I am new on the Forum and looking forward to learning new and interesting aspects of our business.

This is why I am here: I am looking for international real estate/property for sale websites to buy. The ideal site would be a directory, like mondinion.com, viviun.com etc that I can expand on and add to.

Any leads, ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Kane2012, Welcome to Experienced-People.net! Your interests will fit right in with current members, as most are interested in buying and selling of sites, and we do have many brokers as established forum members.

The two examples provided are very nice sites. Do you currently own any sites? Are you exclusively in the real estate / physical property niche?

Have you considered creating any of your own directories? I have been exploring directory creation recently. The best real estate directory back-end I've found is http://www.marketgrabber.com/demodi/...-browse-1.aspx although many sites also use eSyndicat.com and eDirectory.com

According to a SearchEngineLand report, many small directories are now being removed from the Google Index:

Does this suggest that it will be more difficult in the future to be successful with directories?

Since the penguin/panda updates I have a few directories using phpld and whilst my larger directories are down about 30% traffic wise none have been deleted. The curious thing is my smaller niche and/or local based directories are up traffic between 50% and 300%

Hi...I am only in the real estate niche. I have 1 RE site that I am not happy with and am looking for a more scaleable template with add ons. The current directory sites look really expensive and there is no option for my own theme, so I am still looking. I have a couple of affiliate sites up but nothing great..to answer your question. I want to use video/white boards, etc. to have something new and more useful to the subscriber.

    Hi Kane,
Welcome, I'm new here, too. I was looking at the two sites you mentioned in your introductory post, and it looks to me like you could pretty easily replicate a similar look and feel using WordPress and a number of plugins.

Using a static page as the main page, you could use a gallery plugin or a slider plugin for interesting featured property at the top and use a plugin for latest posts to show the most recent properties. Tags or categories could be used to show regionalized listings only. I know there is a plugin that allows for a different theme for each category, so you could use that to make regions look different if you wanted, too.

With this approach, video becomes easy, as there are many plugins that allow for not only presenting video, but also sharing video on social media. It also makes it easy to change the theme of the directory. The hardest part seems like it would be the actual input of listings.

Maybe I'm missing what you're looking for through a gap in my own knowledge, I'm not sure. Hopefully this is helpful and gives you some ideas.

    Kind Regards,

    Jim Waller

Thanks. I have considered this and using Prismotube for the video general interest aspect. Any experience with this program?

I used prismotube when it first came out and I tell you I made a small fortune out of it but alas too many were sold and the big G worked out they were only copies of youtube and it all fizzled out. I haven't looked at it for a few years now so I don't know what it is doing these days.

I think at it's peak I was getting around 500k visitors per month and mostly non english stuff and they were clicking on all sorts of offers/ads.
