New listing at Very Expensive Brokers

    Here

Dropship Pet Products Ecommerce Website MO (relocatable)
    Overview: Top Search Positioning!
...Today, it is one of the premiere websites in its industry offering attractive, high quality dog and cat collars, leashes, harnesses, beds, toys, jewelry, apparel, treats and accessories. With 95% of products drop shipped and the remaining 5% ordered as sold, there is very little inventory to manage. ....With the SEO work done to date, the website boasts #1 POSITION ranking on Google for its top industry keyword terms.
As usual with them, there's no URL. So, let's play a guessing game

Given the clues (state: MO; keywords: first place etc) who can uncover the domain name?

Seems to me it would depend on what they mean by "top industry keyword terms" or as one of our former Presidents once said "It depends on what the meaning of "is" is.

    Andy

P.S. For example I found this site: http://www.buschpetproducts.com/ it does indeed rank #1 in google for... busch pet products but how many people search for that term - ever.

Exactly, Andy, that's open to interpretation. It would too easy if they specified the exact keywords

Christopher's guess matches the keywords and also the state of registration. (Though domain regn state is not always a clear indicator of where the business is based)

Unfortunately, the business listing doesn't give a clear start date to match with the WHOIS first reg year of 1996. All the say is that it's pre-2000.

Here' s what I got from the listing "the owners launched their ecommerce business in 2007."

And here is what the domain search told me:

    Domain Name: BUSCHPETPRODUCTS.COM
    Created on: 11-Dec-07
    Expires on: 11-Dec-11
    Last Updated on: 18-Sep-09

    This is also possible www.mydogcollars.com/

Comes up number 1 for Designer Dog collars - this keyword alone gets 18,000 searches a month according to google.

    Additional info:

    Reverse Whois:
"Domains by Proxy, Inc." owns about641 other domains

    Registrar History:
    1 registrar with 1 drop.

    NS History:
9 changes on 6 unique name servers over 4 years.

    IP History:
12 changes on 8 unique name servers over 6 years.

    Whois History:
31 records have been archived since 2007-07-06 .

    Dedicated Hosting:
mydogcollars.com is hosted on a dedicated server.

This looks like a better match than the last one.

    Christopher,

Was it your own research or did I say something leading you to concur? If I am right now I gotta know why!

I'm not too fussed with NS history, IP changes etc., as they don't seem to assist in this case.

However, this does look like a good choice if you visit their contact us page. They're based in MO.

I have no clue about what's important in the stuff that I pasted, but I think it gives evidence to what is not there i.e. it doesn't look like it changed hands many times, they are using a proxy - maybe in preparation for selling? Plus, I note they are using a dedicated server. This suggests they have some substantial traffic and can afford premium services. Then again this is a higher end business than I'm used to.

Yes they are based in MO. I neglected to include this.

Interesting to note all that top place rankings only get them about 22k uniques a month. And a lot of that is probably long tail which means even less for their main keyword "dog collar" and or "dog collars".

Reminds me of the medical scrubs site in terms of pricing and what you're really buying... their current rankings.
