Where could I outsource a small Adobe Illustrator task?

I want to redesign a logo that was created in Adobe Illustrator. It consists of a shape filled with two lines of warped text (each letter is distorted to fit inside the outline path) and I want a new one with only one line of text inside the shape. I believe the original was created with Adobe Illustrator, but I can't justify paying $600 for a tool I'll use two or three times. I use the Gimp, but can't find a way to do anything more than make fixed-size characters follow a path. I haven't installed and tried Inkscape, but the tutorials and forum posts I have found don't cover what I want to do, so maybe it isn't up to the task. Anyway, the job is simple for a skilled Illustrator user, so it seems sensible to pay someone to do it.

I tried Fiverr, but the well-rated seller clearly had no idea how to recreate the original shape. I need someone skilled enough to take my current logo and create a path identical to its outline, then put the text in it. You can see the logo at http://ropeysoles.com/beret_home.php - I want to remove the 'espadrilles' line and expand the 'ropeysoles' line to fit the shape.

How about oDesk ? I've had generally positive experiences there, especially for small, concrete tasks like this one.

Also, you used to be able to download a trial version of Adobe Creative Suite from the Adobe website ...

Thanks, Monty. The Adobe trial is still available, but I think my learning curve for Illustrator might be a bit long for this task.

Chabrenas, you can also use the BSTE if you want to advertise a job you need doing.

    Chabrenas,

The version I did used two overlapping word art type objects with the word soles having a larger bulge to mimic a foot. Attachment 321 It didn't take long, and might achieve what you are looking for. I hope this helps.

I was wondering how that would look. After viewing the original, where two words formed the sole of a shoe, it seemed that expansion of a single line of text would have required long very-thin letters. I can see where this change in the font would be necessary, and a lower case letters is helpful.

In all honesty, I was just testing out the theory that it might look right just using the two inflated word art type objects. I'm a challenge driven type of guy, so the idea intrigued me. I could certainly change the font and make it all caps and tweak it in other ways. I even considered finding a rope based font since it is "ropey" soles. I didn't want to stray too far from the original concept, though. For my "test" I didn't want to spend too much time on it, and I wanted to see what Chabrenas thinks.

Chabrenas, if you like it, I'm happy to tweak it for you, just PM me and let me know your specifications (overall size desired, font you want used, if you want it in all caps, desired file type, etc.). I should be able to whip it out pretty quickly if you like my approach to it. I hope this helps.

    Jim

P.S. If you want "and berets" added in, I might have some ideas for that, and I could add a "cabillou" to it if you like.

I am always intrigued to hear new words. Indeed any day where I hear a new word gives me a sense of well being. However when you have many years under your belt new words don't come along too often. Cabillou is my word of the day. I could not find an English translation for this but the best I got was that it is a 'Petite queue du béret située en son centre'. For the non-French speakers, that is the little tail at the center of the beret.

Another word that crossed my desk in the last week from one of my guest blogger posts was the word tucket. It turns out that it is
a fanfare on a trumpet. I hope your day is one that deserves a tucket.
