Announcing A Paid Subscription Service For Experienced-People.net

I've been toying with various ideas and options to allow people to list websites for sale here. I've tried one or two systems and have discussed nitty gritty with mods.

Background: I want listing to be free, easy to use and want everyone, including non-members, to be able to come and list quality sites for sale here but I don't want spam. There needs to be some barrier to entry or every damn SEO around will start posting and flood the marketplace. In fact, I put in a system earlier this month which was being abused in exactly that way despite the fact that people had to fill in a form and jump through some hoops.

The barrier was originally going to be "post count" but requiring members to have a minimum post count excludes non-members from signing up to list their sites. We've tried that kind of barrier with BSTE in the past. So here's how it's going to work:

If you are a member and have 50+ posts you are a forum regular and you are therefore free to post your Site For Sale in the Established Websites section or the Starter Websites section at any time. There is no limit, you can create a new listing everyday if you have that many sites to sell!

If you are a non-member or a member with less than 50 posts, you need to sign up for the paid subscription - cost $1.99. The idea isn't to make money out of this but to keep the casual spammers out. Anybody who can't be bothered to pay $1.99 isn't serious about selling their site. Being a paid subscriber doesn't mean you get any concessions. It just means that your account gets automatic access to creating threads in those two forums.
