    Some interesting facts about MBAs

Business Zone has compiled some interesting facts about MBAs and presented them attractively as infographics.

    Have a look!

It contains info about the cost of an MBA, job prospects, and more. There's some interesting trivia in there too. Apparently there is only one American president who had an MBA. Who is it?

That is an interesting infographic. It certainly makes an interesting argument for becoming an entrepreneur.

What really made me chuckle is the adsense ads for MBA programs immediately following the infographic arguing against getting an MBA. LOL!

Jim, the idiocy of AS 'targeting' is astounding sometimes, but I think I've just figured something out.

The other day I was complaining about the very same thing on another thread.

And when I read your comment I thought, "AdSense adverts would make you want to tear your hair out sometimes". The penny has dropped. Perhaps that explains why they were showing me ads inviting me to buy hair. They must have read my mind that I was annoyed with them.

I saw that thread, but wasn't sure I had much to add to it. In this particular case, I'd say the AS just saw "MBA" and decided to serve accordingly not knowing it was probably the last thing it should. LOL

    Thanks Kay, another interesting post)

As someone who messed/pissed up academic opportunity first time around!! I was fortunate to have a decent work ethic and level of ambition which allowed me to progress my career without quailifications when I dropped out of uni...

Yet for the last couple of years I have felt the growing need to secure that "Academic Acknowledgement" of Skills & Knowledge and have been working towards an MA in Leading Innovation & Change..

While I am still a couple of years away from getting the letters behind my name, the process has been enlighting on so many levels and would highly recommend Enterpreneurs taking time out to explore the world away from their business. ( It is easy to become stuck in a bubble)

It also does'nt need to cost the hundreds of thousands or take up all your time. ( Although you must allow for a chunk of time each week if you are going to do it justice)

I think one has to differentiate between MBA programs. I got my MBA from a State School six years ago, and it did not improve my income. Then again, I already had a good low level management / professional job. Taking into consideration that my employer paid about half the tuition and books, my total expense came to about $15,000 over two years.

I have friends that have left their job making decent, but low salaries and gone to a top 10 school to get their MBA. They have come back to town a couple of years later to get hired by a local company making almost twice what they were making before. Spending $80,000 getting an MBA is a good deal if you can pay it back in 3 years based solely on the raise that you get by getting a new job. In addition, there is a lot more upside potential when you get hired as an entry level M&A financial analyst with an MBA making $100,000. You know that after a few years, you could go work somewhere else for $150,000 or $200,000.
