I've found a few alternatives to askimet after doing a little research, but I don't know if any of them are less prone to hackers. If you're interested here are three links you might find helpful:

I can't vouch for any of them, so you have to make your own decision, but maybe someone else has had experience with one or more of these and can make a recommendation.
