Oracle and Google ordered by court to disclose paid bloggers

    Article

The judge said he was "concerned" that financial relationships may have influenced analysis published in newspapers and on the net.
Oracle claims they already disclose all paid relationships. Google says it will comply with the court order.

JJMcClure is in trouble, :-) but he's away from these forums for a few days so won't reply. (I wonder if he's on holiday and who paid for it )

It is a little bit trickier for Google though.

It is not clear what both parties will count as qualifying as payments.

Santa Clara University professor Eric Goldman told Reuters he might appear on Google's declaration list because he has written about the case while featuring Google-distributed adverts on his site

This should be no problem for Google. They already have a large team of people who attempt to determine whether links are of high quality or not. All they need to do is turn this team onto all the agents who publish information about them at their behest. The ones they detect as low quality should then be communicated to the authorities.

I guess it's a case of "Physician heal thyself".
