    A simple Hello, just registered

So impulse leads me to another internet forum...this one looks like it could be quite good

Tend to spend a little bit of time everywhere and keep myself pretty busy so more of a lurker but like to keep my rather large ears to the ground...

Been involved in Digital since 96/97, Web, Mobile & Digitial TV. It's a big world which is remarkably small and full of opportunities.

I joined here following a thread which I saw posted by Clinton on ASW, it was a topic which interested me ( and I liked his "Tone" as it made me smile) hence the join, look forward to taking some time to see what I have missed))))

    James

    James,

welcome to the forums - not much chance of being a lurker on here - apart from the fact that the rules encourage folks to contribute, this is a great place for some good meaty discussion, so do come and join in...
It would be interesting to know more about your skills / your interests - web / mobile / digital tv is quite a broad spectrum - what has been your interest in it?

Hi and Welcome James! I'm glad to see you've already started posting in other threads. I think you'll find this is a great place to be. I look forward to getting to know you from your posts, and I hope you learn from the folks here as well as sharing your experiences with us. Jim

Thanks for the welcome Alasdair and Jim..

Digital is pretty broad Alasdair ))) but it does best describe where my knowledge and understand is.. I have been a Digital Business Model Designer for about 5 years now, which compliemented my Brand & Marketing background before that and wraps up nicely into my lifes work which is based around the study of Social Digital Science and Enterprise.... My last 15 years in a nutshell))

@Jim - took a look at your paintings, there is some interesting work on there. I liked the "Black & White No 1".....

Always working)).... I think your website could do with a stronger gallary feature, and little more "Feeling in the site layout and design" so that your work is better showcased.

Hi James, welcome from me too.

At the risk of sounding stupid (it wouldn't be the first time, LOL), what does this mean? I thought just about everything was digital these days. I might be better staying on safer ground and asking you about your hobbies or something. It was kind of you to offer advice to Jim about his site. Are you interested in art?

You are right "just about everything is digital these days" However there are still billions of people who are still getting their heads around that... )))))))))))

Art interests me ( proberly because I can't draw or paint myself) but mostly because I love anything creative..

I like to learn, and one of the best ways to do that is to share opinion and views....

I am Marmite so try to spread myself thin throughout the day as not to draw attention to my aquired taste... heheh

never fear, I have stupid days all the time, it helps balance out the occassional moments of brilliance))

    James,

Thanks for the advice, I do have more plans for the site. It is still a work in progress. I have a huge backlog of paintings to upload, and as you mentioned, make it a better representation of my work. I also have not turned the store on yet, but I've got it set up in the back end.

It just takes time, the one commodity we all only have in equal amounts. Judging by your initial post, you know what I mean as you mentioned your time being spread thin. I sometimes spend more time here than I probably should, because I find it interesting and beneficial. I hope you will find it that way, too.

    Jim
