    Flippa auction : http://www.bunkbedmattresses.net

    Hi guys

    This is the auction.
    http://flippa.com/auctions/97148/81-...nse-And-Amazon
Do you see any value in this website at all? Any reason why it might not have sold the previous two times?
I was thinking that the site looks extremely easy to replicate. Any thoughts?

It's a low quality website based on a mediocre exact match domain with very little history, the seller shouldn't expect a half-way decent multiple. I think he might get what he wants if he started the bid at a buck with no reserve and got a few bidders interested.

Is it possible that the revenues/profits are true though? I contacted the seller and he says that we can do the transaction on escrow
and I can put in my own google analytics to monitor for a week.
He's got a few other sites using the same adsense publisher but was saying that each site has its own channel. Is there anyway to verify this?

I think the highest bids in each of the last two auctions were more than fair, so I wouldn't waste a lot of time with a seller who wouldn't accept them.

The seller's offer to verify revenue sounds reasonable, and you can find more information about his adsense account usage here: http://spyonweb.com/bunkbedmattresses.net. I would make sure to get Analytics data from him for the site to compare to the Adsense data.

3stacks, here's a tip. If he's inserting your GA code, have him call a file from your site rather than inserting the code directly in his template. That way you can monitor which sites are calling the code and how often. You can compare that with the figures in GA itself.

If he puts your GA code on other sites to try and bump up the figures, the GA page impressions will differ from what own logs say about how many times the GA code was called.

Wait... What? Can you explain what you mean by this? I don't think I quite understand. What do you mean by "have him call a file from your site"?

    Heard of SSIs and iframes?

You'd place the GA code in a blank file on your site and give him the URI to the file. Each time his page loads it "calls" whatever is in your file and executes the js or displays the text / image in your file.

See also one pixel tracking gifs which you can add to the file if you wanted further tracking.
