    Hey from Scotland

    Hi there,

been reading the forums for a little while, thought it about time I registered.

Since leaving university haven't been able to find a job within the biochemistry sector and stumbled across this website. I'm not looking to create any business or any other ventures, I'm just here to keep my brain active. Coming from science and my only computer experience being with scientific programmes, blogging and of course computer games I found a lot of the information on these forums to be daunting. Gradually coming more accustomed to the jargon and what not.

Do have a personal blog which I write but it's purely for social reasons, although I did add google adwords to it last year ( out of curiousity ) but nothing of a significant value.

Anyways, I'm enjoying reading the forums, finding new things to read up and it's a generally interesting topic.

    Thanks

    Dreich

Hey there a combination of dull, overcast, drizzly, cold, misty and miserable weather, welcome to the forum I hope your posts are going to be sunnier than your nick. Don't worry about the jargon, these guys are 1337 at buying and selling sites, it's business pwnage in action, no nębs here, except me maybe. Lawlz.

    What games do you play?

    Hey Dreich, welcome to experienced-people.net

Mix biochemistry with a bit of HTML, add a solvent, heat at 90 degrees .... sorry, couldn't resist

Seriously, though, it's the people who come from a different background, with vastly different expertise and experiences in life who bring new perspectives to business that drive creativity, innovation and recognition of new opportunities.

I look forward to your posts.

Well I think the name suits my personality

When it comes to computer games I have quite a wide variety of taste, have a soft spot for old ones that I remember playing on the Spectrum many years ago but these days I play things like CoD ( very very very badly), love final fantasy, was a hardcore WoW'er for a while, football manager is another I started when I was a lot younger and haven't kicked the habit yet( It's the only place where Scotland wins the world cup) and I enjoy games which you can play with friends mainly on Xbox360 and the Wii can be a lot of fun especially the Rabbids games.

We have things in common then (the leet speak was a joke by the way, just in case you weren't sure), I'm currently in an off-wow phase having levelled a few chars to 80 and then got seriously bored. Trying to lvl a belf pala right now (I know... don't say it..) but can't summon the motivation to run everywhere and BGs are doing my head in, might wait for Cataclysm to come out.

I love CoD although I'm still playing 1 and 2, never played MW because I have BF2142 and couldn't see the point of having two shoot em ups. I got pretty good at CoD 1, did you ever play it? If you remember the spectrum you must be a similar age to me, I guess some of us never grow out of gaming huh.

See I don't mind the leveling in WoW but I've always enjoyed exploring, I just got fed up of people who want to outgear all content before trying the easy stuff ( godmode basically). Cataclysm is about the only thing that peaks my interest, been playing Warcraft games since warcraft 2 so I quite like the story and the lore. Think paladins are probably the most boring class to level so I don't blame you for losing motivation.

I'm not that old ( recently 27) just been playing games from a young age, still actually have my Spectrum, haven't tried it in a good few years though. Found a pile of Dizzy games the other day.

I'm not that good with CoD, only recently got MW2 to play with a friend, not as much fun being a beginner and other people expecting everyone to be as good as them. Not sure if I've played any other CoD games, probably have tested them. I've played a fair number of different FPS games from Halo to Unreal tournament, half life, Syphon filter, MGS and a fair number of Tom Clancy games.

I've realised that the levelling is what I enjoy about it. Let's face it, once you get to 80 all you can do is chase gear by one means or another and should you actually end up uber geared then they just bring out a new set and you start all over, sod that. The only problem with levelling is there are only so many quests and by the time I'm doing them for the 4th or 5th time it gets a bit hard to carry. I can't wait for cataclysm, new quests and flying mounts in Azeroth!

My mage is the char I most enjoyed levelling, kinda miss playing that one.

My biggest gripe about WoW is the way that they're dumbing it down. I think they've changed their target demographic and are aiming at younger kids now. Starting new chars is ridiculously easy, mobs can't even stun you from behind anymore till lvl 10, life and mana replenishes so fast you don't even need to eat or drink. New abilities automatically put themselves into your task bar. Mounts at lvl 20 and epics at 40 etc etc .... They get rid of twinks but then bring in Heirloom items with a 10% XP boost that stacks... Everything about it is easier than when I started playing vanilla WoW.

Heh, I spent a good while playing Rogue Spear, remember that? Wonder what it would be like to play it now, I bet the graphics were crappy but I don't remember it that way.

I bet your spectrum is worth a few bob you know.

Think my biggest gripe about WoW has to be gearscore. Hate it. When they introduced random dungeons it was great to queue up and not have to spam general for 8 hours looking for a healer, now you level a character to 80, do normal dungeons, gear up, do heroics and you get kicked for not having 5k gear score. It's just absurd that people think you should be in ICC gear to do heroic content. It is a lot easier which is good in some aspects but not so good in others. Just thought of another gripe, everyone who has started in WotLK thinks that all dungeons are just AoE like mad and don't realise they have CC abilities for a reason.

I played a mage for a while in vanilla and TBC, PvE wise I found the mage to be dull, PvP was pretty good though but my love has always been for warriors. In all RPG/RTS games I just prefer warrior type classes.

I remember the name rogue spear but don't remember playing it, Rainbow six was one of my favourites.

Have you ever played Saints row 2? It's hilarious, sick but hilarious.

lol yeah... then have a row about who's going to summon, then spend 30 minmutes getting somewhere and then some idiot drops out half way through... must admit that I don't miss that, the new system does make levelling through dungeoans much easier. Same with BGs, no more pondering whether to quest or BG, just do both! I've never got far enough into 80 to have to worry about gear scores, that's the exact thing I can't stand about the end game.

Yeah, I practically never came out of BGs with my mage. Never played a warrior, not really into melee classes with the exception of my undead rogue which I enjoyed playing.. I'm just a WoW cliche aren't I. I have a human rogue too, just for a bit of variety.

Never heard of it but just had a look at the website, gotta admit to having qualms about playing games that glamourise gangsters.

Problem I have with BGs now is they're not as fun as they were in vanilla, now it's just another platform to get some epics rather than playing it for the joy of PvP. World PvP is dead, I've done a fair bit of arenas in TBC, got over 2000 in 2v2 and 3v3 as a lock( when locks were overpowered) now I just seems a bit elitist. I'm not that good at PvP but I always enjoyed WSG, oh and I'm one of the sad people who miss 12hour long AVs rather than the rush PvE it is nowadays. Well I have an UD rogue too, well I played it mostly in vanilla as a break from alliance, used to love PvP with him, standing at the flag in WSG and 2 shotting casters was quite fun.

I guess I'm a bit biased but I don't believe Saints row glamourises gangsters, it's rather tongue in cheek and a lot more humorous than GTA is these days. Of course it's not everyones cup of tea.
